Diese Platte sollte damals der große Wurf werden,
hat Sub Pop US doch ein Riesenbudget zur Verfügung gestellt und mit
Gary Smith einen Produzenten gewonnen, der damals beinahe 1. Liga war
(Pixies etc.). Mit Walkabouts-Klassikern wie "Dead Man Rise",
"Stir The Ashes" und dem fast 10-minütigen "Train
To Mercy", von dem sich u.a. Natalie Merchant und sogar Brian Eno,
der in einem Nachbarstudio aufnahm, so begeistert zeigte, dass er mit
Stimme und Synthie eingriff.
Produced by Gary Smith (Pixies etc.), "Scavenger" features
a couple of Walks-classics like "Dead Man Rise", "Stir
The Ashes" and the 10-minute epic "Train To Mercy". Guests
were Brian Eno and Natalie Merchant.
