A side project of Grateful Dead-guitarist Bob Weir, Kingfish was a hot little bar band that stayed close to rock's roots. There's a very strong song selection, featuring "Jump for Joy," "Lazy Lightning," "Wild Northland," "Big Iron," "Goodby Yer Honor," "Asia Minor," and more. Besides Weir, players on this release include Dave Torbert, Matthew Kelly, Robby Hoddinott, and Chris Herold. This album featured jams to challenge The Dead's but also knew when to come back to earth.
